After the statewide cancellations of junior high basketball games until December 10th, which is subject to change, the Trojans will have their Varsity season start as scheduled even with their busy slate of games right out of the gate.
The girls will open the season at home this Friday against Twin Cedars. They will also have contests the following Monday and Tuesday– that’s three straight school days with a contest. The boys will open their season against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Tuesday.
Trojans’ Activities Director Joel Allman tells KNIA Sports that all varsity contests are currently expected to go on as scheduled and that the news for junior high games came as a shock to him and the district.
Pleasantville’s December 4th matchup against Woodward Academy has also been cancelled as the Knights opted to cancel their basketball season on Tuesday. This was a boys matchup only as Woodward Academy doesn’t have a girls program.
