The Twin Cedars Girls Basketball Squad was one of the best defenses in the area last season allowing only 39.3 points per game. However, as good as the defense was, the offense struggled to put points on the board, averaging only 33.6 per game. Coach Trent Verwers tells KRLS Sports if his team is to improve on its 5-18 record from a year ago, they must score.

Verwers :
“At the end of the day if you don’t score more than the other team it doesn’t matter. We have to score more and we have 85-90% of our scoring back from last year, plus with the graduation of everyone else I think we’ll just be better.”

Brooke Roby returns as the leading scorer at 11-point-seven points per game. Verwers says Roby and a couple of other girls need to up their scoring for the Sabers to have a chance to win more than five games this season.
