A vehicle caught fire in the 500 block of S 3rd Street in Knoxville shortly before noon Thursday. An individual was working on the vehicle when the gas tank exploded. The individual was transported to a hospital for treatment of second degree burns. The Knoxville Fire Department and Knoxville Police Department responded to the scene.
