Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Knoxville is distributing Thanksgiving turkeys and fixings to 21 Knoxville families today. Pastor Joshua Feala says this is a longstanding program that provides Thanksgiving meals to those in need.

“The Thanksgiving basket program is an activity our congregation has done at least ever since I’ve been here. We work in conjunction with the guidance counselor at the Knoxville School District to provide families with a bountiful Thanksgiving. It’s our way of sharing the bounty we’ve received in our lives, and letting it be passed on so others can enjoy it.”

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a smaller group will be gathering to fill the baskets, and a team of volunteers will still make deliveries throughout the city.
