The Pleasantville Trojans suffered their first loss of the season, falling to the Lynnville-Sully Hawks Monday night, 49-40.
Despite the loss, Adi Adreon and Rachel Harvey both put up double figures in scoring, leading the team with 13 and 12 points respectively. This game marked Adreon’s second consecutive game with double figures in scoring.
Pleasantville Coach Jeff Cook tells KNIA Sports that he was impressed with their defensive effort throughout the game, but the team struggled to shoot from the field in the second half. The Trojans were outscored in the second half 23-17.
Pleasantville’s next game is tonight, as they will play their third game in five days. They will be at home to host Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, who, like Pleasantville, is also 1-1 on the season.
After Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont’s loss to Lynnville-Sully Friday night, the Rockets knocked off Washington last night in a 52-39 victory. The Rockets are returning two starters from last year, including Junior Rylee German and Senior Emalee Davis, who both averaged more than eight points per game last winter.
The Trojans will look for their third straight win over the Rockets, tipping off at 7:30 P.M. in Pleasantville.
