The latest COVID-19 update in the City of Indianola shows a growth of 41 cases within city limits and an additional 11 not within city limits but inside the Indianola Fire District, for a total of 553 in the city and 153 in the district for a total of 706 cases to affect the city, a growth of 52 cases since the November 20th update.
According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, COVID-19 cases in Warren County saw an increase of 157 cases over the weekend, and now has 2,547 confirmed cases to affect the county. Active cases continue to rise, with 1,295 current cases in Warren County, 127 more since the November 20th update. Through November 23rd, Warren County has seen a growth of 1,208 cases since the end of October, nearly half of all cases to have affected the county.
The Iowa Department of Public Health also shows one long-term care facility outbreak in the county, and Warren County has nine deaths from the virus.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has set a 15% positive test rate as a metric that is a factor in indicating schools should move to remote learning. As of Monday, Warren County is over the threshold at 16.8%, while Marion County is over at 23.8%. There are 93 counties in Iowa currently over the threshold.
