The latest COVID-19 update in the City of Indianola shows a growth of eight cases within city limits and an additional four not within city limits but inside the Indianola Fire District, for a total of 561 in the city and 157 in the district for a total of 718 cases to affect the city.
According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, COVID-19 cases in Warren County saw an increase of 170 cases since the November 23rd update, and now has 2,717 confirmed cases to affect the county. Active cases continue to rise, with 1,376 current cases in Warren County, 81 more since the November 23rd update.
The Iowa Department of Public Health also shows one long-term care facility outbreak in the county, and Warren County has ten deaths from the virus.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has set a 15% positive test rate as a metric that is a factor in indicating schools should move to remote learning. As of Monday, Warren County is over the threshold at 15.9%, while Marion County is over at 21.4%. There are 88 counties in Iowa currently over the threshold.
