Pleasantville Wrestling Head Coach Heath DeForest is setting the bar very high for his team as they prepare for their first tournament of the season.

The team as a whole last year had six wrestlers make the district tournament, including one advancing to the state tournament. The wrestler that advanced to state last winter was Matthew Kauffman, at 285 pounds. DeForest tells KNIA Sports that he is aiming for Kauffman to make the podium this season.

DeForest also states that his team’s varsity experience is going to be very beneficial for his team this winter, including returning more than ten wrestlers from last season, graduating just Alex Sampson and Cale Anthony.

Pleasantville’s first quad tournament will take place in Southeast Warren on December 3rd, with the first matches starting at 5:30 P.M.
