The Indianola boys basketball squad makes their season debut, while the Indians girls try to bounce back from a season opening loss on the road Monday (tonight) at North Polk. The Indians girls shot just 32% in their season opener against Des Moines Christian, including just 3/22 from long range, and will look to rebound against a Comets squad that gave up 67 points to Dallas Center-Grimes in their season opening loss.
The Indians boys will have a new look returning only two starters from last year’s squad, and head coach Brett Watson tells KNIA Sports his squad is ready to face some talented teams to start the season.
“The bottom line is we are going to be tested right off the bat, at North Polk and at Pella in that first week, two extremely tough tests for us. We’ve had a lot of quality practices leading up to this, and the guys will just need to keep the work ethic they’ve been having and their tremendous attitude and we’ll see the chips fall where they may.”
The games can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 5:45pm, with tip-off scheduled for 6pm.
