The Pella School Board received a presentation giving an overview of the status of the district’s overall budget at their most recent meeting.

Superintendent Greg Ebeling says a decline in enrollment, largely attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic, and expenses for additional staffing and purchasing supplies and safety measures related to the virus, have had an impact on finances.

However, he says the district was in a strong financial position before the pandemic due to recent budget measures implemented in fiscal year 2019, including early retirement incentives, which may come back again if state supplemental aid or additional federal funding is not received to offset costs due to COVID-19.

A budget overview is the first step in the process, which concludes with certification in March. Find the financial presentation for the Pella Community School District by clicking here.
