The Melcher-Dallas girls basketball team will be looking for their first win of the season, as they play at home against Pleasantville Tuesday night. The Saints will also be looking for their first victory over Pleasantville since 2012

Melcher-Dallas’ season got off to a rough start this past Tuesday, losing at home to Wayne, another team that has had Melcher-Dallas’ number over the last five seasons. However, Coach Kelsey Goff tells KNIA Sports that she was very impressed with the effort of Kynser Reed in the loss.

Reed had a double-double, scoring 11 points and hauling down ten total rebounds. Goff also stated that offensive rebounding was a clear strength of the team in their opener, collecting 23 offensive boards. One weakness that Goff saw in her team was their free-throw shooting, as the Saints just went two for 20 from the line.

Melcher-Dallas and Pleasantville play a doubleheader on Tuesday, with the girls team starting at 6:00 P.M. The game will be broadcasted on kniakrls.com on the KNIA3 stream.
