The Knoxville Public Library is again hosting the “Christmas Tree of Books” through this holiday season. Youth Services Coordinator Holly Shelford tells KNIA/KRLS News that this is an ongoing tradition that promotes ongoing education and helps the library financially.
“This is something we’ve been doing for many, many years here at the Knoxville Public Library. We think it’s a good time to give the gift of reading. The Christmas Tree of Books is where we’ve picked out some books we’d like to put into our circulation. You can come in and look over the books, and if there’s a book you would like to purchase, you may do so, and you can dedicate it in honor or memory of somebody. We think it’s a great way to give to our library and promote literacy in our community.”
