For the first time in the early stages of the 2020-21 season, multiple Mustang teams will be competing Thursday evening.

The girls and boys will be heading to Montezuma for a date with the Braves/Bravettes. Both PCM basketball teams are looking for their first wins of the season. The Montezuma teams are a combined 1-2 on the season, the only victory coming for the girls, who sit at 1-1.

The PCM boys are coming off a season opening loss at home to Knoxville, and will look for greater offensive production from key players. Leading returning scorer Durant Van Dyke was held to just a single basket on Tuesday against the Panthers.

The wrestling team will also make their debut for the season at home in a triangular event featuring Ogden and Van Meter. This previously unscheduled contest was added since the Mustangs wanted to have an extra event during the season. The big names to look out for are returning state participants Colby Tool and Landon Fenton. Cooper Sloan also looks poised for a run to Des Moines at 220 lbs.

Check back tomorrow on 92.1 KRLS and kniakrls.com for recaps on all of Thursday’s action for the PCM Mustangs.
