Coming off of a monster senior season on the gridiron and with his college choice now made, Pella Christian Senior Luke Mulder is aiming to help the basketball program make another deep postseason run this winter.

Mulder is one of three returning varsity Eagles, including Levi Schelhaas and Luke’s younger brother Eric, all of whom played big roles in the season opening loss to Albia Tuesday.

Mulder believes he needs to be a role model and leader for a team filled with potential that remains young and untested at the varsity level.

Luke scored 11 points in his first career start on the basketball court. He will join the rest of his Eagles teammates on the road to Norwalk Friday, for a girls-boys doubleheader that can be heard on 92.1 KRLS, with pregame at 5:45 p.m.
