A helium balloon with a GPS tracker launched by the Pella Amateur Radio Club for Jefferson Intermediate 5th Grade Science students just went around the world a second time, according to Jim Emmert with the group.

At last report, the total flight was at greater than 27 days and still going, which is by far the longest track for the Pella Exploring Near Space project, which has featured members of the Pella Amateur Radio Club interacting with local science classes for several years.
