With the increase of virtual learning, the Indianola School District is trying to establish education standards that would keep the virtual learners up to date with the in-person students while also limiting screen time. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News the district is working to provide aid for both students and teachers for the virtual learning environment.

“We are conscious of screen time for students and what is recommended. I don’t think it’s a great model to have kids sitting in front of a computer all day and calling that their education. There are some technology hurdles of getting the sound right and being able to engage students. Then there are some training things for staff, which some are doing already with some synchronous learning and others are learning how to do that.”
