For the first time in several years, the Indianola wrestling squad will host a five-team tournament at the Blake Fieldhouse today, inviting Ballard, Centerville, Fort Dodge, and North Polk to compete. The Indians are 1-0 in duals to start the season, but will begin their tournament slate today against a tough range of opponents in class 2A and 3A. Head coach Clint Manny tells KNIA Sports the buildup to the season has put everything in perspective, and makes both athletes and coaches take advantage of the time they have been given.

“From the attitude from the room is what I’ve noticed the most. It’s went from being not looking forward to the grind of hard practices ahead of competition to we are just grateful to be in the room and be able to hang out together and be a team together. We are just happy to have a goal with each other, and having something to work towards.”
