Wreaths Across America will be at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville on Saturday, December 19th to honor fallen veterans. During the ceremony, wreaths will be placed on the graves of those who served in the armed forces while their name is read aloud.

This ceremony is part of Wreaths Across America Day, with similar ceremonies taking place throughout the United States. Wreaths Across America is a national nonprofit organization that was founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery near Washington, DC.

Kurt Froyen, commander of the American Legion and Dick Reed, Commander of the VFW tells KNIA/KRLS news that the Legion and VFW will be handling crosses and flags as they normally due, and are supportive, but won’t be present at the event because of concerns for Covid-19.
