melcher-dallas-7

Melcher-Dallas split their doubleheader Friday against Ankeny Christian, with the girls getting their first win of the season. However, the Saints are going to have a quick turnaround as they play the first home conference doubleheader against powerhouse Lamoni.

The girls will be looking to get their first winning streak of the season after routing Ankeny Christian, 70-23 on Friday. A player that stepped up over the last two games is Hailey Hoch, who transferred from Twin Cedars last winter. Hoch is currently leading the team in scoring with nine points a game, including a team-high 23 Friday. The girls will be looking for their first win against Lamoni since January 2013.

The boys will be looking for their first win of the season after losing their first two games to Pleasantville and Ankeny Christian. A high point for the team so far this season has been the emergence of Ryan Krpan, who has scored 23 and 20 points in his first two games of the season. The Saints through the first two games have given up 73.5 points per game, including giving up 90 to Ankeny Christian. The boys will look for their first win against Lamoni since January 2011.

The doubleheader begins Tuesday, with the girls game tipping off at 6:00 P.M. at Melcher-Dallas High School.
