Pleasantville Wrestling had their first major tournament of the season yesterday at Nodaway Valley High School and two wrestlers placed second, four wrestlers placed fourth, and one wrestler placed sixth in their respective classes. The Trojans finished fourth overall as a team out of 12 participants.

 

Devon Luing placed second at 120 lbs and Matthew Kauffman placed second at 285 lbs. Ross Stephens placed fourth at 152 lbs and Kitt Lundy placed fourth at 138 lbs. Dillon Ammons also placed fourth at 170 lbs as well as Alex Swanson at 195 lbs. Michael McGriff finished sixth at 225 lbs.

 

Pleasantville’s Marion County foe Knoxville also participated in the tournament. As a team, the Panthers placed 11th out of 12 teams. Two wrestlers placed third, two placed fifth and two placed sixth in the tournament.

 

Placing third was Daniel Gorskikh at 126 lbs and Luke Spaur at 132 lbs. Placing fifth at 182 lbs was Gavin Montalvo and at 195 lbs was Gage Rowley. Wayne Johnston placed sixth at 160 lbs and Kale Kincaid at 152 lbs.

 

Pleasantville’s next meet will be a quad at PCM on Tuesday, with action starting at 5:30 P.M. Knoxville’s next competition will be the South Central Conference Tournament on Thursday at Chariton.
