Pleasantville’s basketball teams have their first conference doubleheader Monday night, as they travel to Panorama High School to take on the Panthers.
The girls are coming off a 47-33 victory over Melcher-Dallas Tuesday, putting their record at 2-2 on the season. Their top two scorers through four games are Breanna Benge and Adi Adreon both at nine points per game, respectively. The Trojans will be looking to give Panorama their first loss of the season. The Trojans have not beaten Panorama in the last 15 years, with their most recent matchup coming last year. Pleasantville lost that matchup 63-38. Coach Jeff Cook tells KNIA Sports that his team needs to play a half-court offense in order to come out on top.
The boys are coming off a 56-37 victory over Melcher-Dallas Tuesday, giving them their first win of the season behind Mason Scheve’s 18 points and Caylor Clark’s 12 points. The boys will also be looking to give Panorama their first loss of the season, as the Panthers come into the game 3-0. These two teams met last year, an 88-74 victory for Panorama. Coach Tom Wilkins tells KNIA Sports that he doesn’t know a lot about Panorama, but he does know that his team needs to play better.
The doubleheader will begin with the girls’ game tipping off at 6:15 P.M. The game will be broadcast on kniakrls.com on the KNIA3 Stream, with Alex Koch on the call.
