The annual Coaches vs. Cancer event in Knoxville is likely to have major alterations this year. Organizer Jim Uitermarkt tells KNIA/KRLS News that they will still seek donations and have auctions, but the in-person events are not likely to happen.

“Our auction is likely going to be online, unless capacity restrictions get changed. That’ll probably mean no alumni game, no meal, and some of the other things we have that day. We’ll still have our Coaches vs. Cancer games that night, so the kids are excited about that.”

Uitermarkt also says aspects of this year’s event are still to be determined, but should become more clear in the coming weeks. The annual Coaches vs. Cancer games are scheduled for January 23rd when the Knoxville basketball teams host Chariton.
