The Pleasantville Trojans opened conference play at Panorama Monday, and both teams needed to go back to the drawing board after dropping to the Panthers. The girls were routed, 65-30 and so were the boys 58-30.
The girls played well defensively for the first quarter until Panorama went on a 34-5 run through the final two minutes of the first quarter into the halftime break. The Trojans were outscored in the second quarter, 28-5 after trailing 16-8 after one quarter. Adi Adreon was tops on the team in scoring with 11 points, and Malorie McKinney was second in scoring with nine points. The Trojans have now lost four consecutive games to Panorama.
The Pleasantville girls will be playing their next game at Earlham High School on Thursday with tip-off at 6:00 P.M. Their doubleheader against West Central Valley moved from Tuesday, December 15, to Thursday, December 17, with that game tipping off at 6:00 P.M.
The boys were consistently outplayed throughout the whole game as their offense couldn’t score in the paint against a tough Panorama defense. Mason Scheve led the team with nine points, and Colby Sandholt was second with scoring eight points.
The Trojans boys’ next game against Earlham has been postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak within their team. As a result, the boys will play their next game Thursday against Woodward-Granger, with the game tipping off a 6:00 P.M.
Also, as another scheduling note, the doubleheader against West Central Valley moved up from next Tuesday, December 15, to next Thursday, December 17.
