Today will see the Mustangs hit the mats and the hardwood for a couple of events.

The wrestling team, fresh off a triangular sweep at home, will head to West Marshall for a quad that also features Woodward-Granger and Nevada. This will be the first time the hosting school participates this season, and PCM coach Jeff Nicholson says that it may be a challenge going up against a Trojans team that you haven’t had any eyes on yet. The festivities will start at 6 pm.

The girls basketball team will be at home for just the second time this year as they host Albia. The girls sit at 0-5 on the year, but look poised to snap that against a 1-3 Blue Demons squad. PCM hopes that a reversal of fortune starts tonight after some bad luck during the first handful of contests.

Girls coach Jeff Lindsay describes some of the issues plaguing his team in the early going.

“It’s been a combination of things from game to game. The last couple of games, trying to get out of the early start offensively has been tough for us. Offensively right now when teams are giving us a little bit of heat we have to find a way to put the ball into the basket. We’ve had plenty of wide open looks. We just can’t finish them right now.”

The girls game starts with JV at 6 and varsity tipping off after.

Check back tomorrow for recaps on both PCM events.
