The Knoxville Basketball Squads look to get their first South Central Conference wins on the road this season as the Panthers travel to Chariton. Both Knoxville Squads got wins to open the conference Tuesday at home against Clarke in very different ways. The boys, after a slow start, pulled away for a 20 point win. Tonight the Panthers take on a Chariton squad that is rebuilding after several years of success. The Chargers are 0-2 having lost in blowout fashion to Clarke and Albia. Coach Jeff Larson tells KRLS Sports he is not going to worry so much about tonight’s opponent, rather how his guys play and what they can do to win the game.
Larson:
“Can’t go on the floor anytime and beat anybody without working hard. I know they’re working hard and if we can go down there and work hard, I’m not going to worry about the other team.”
The girls won their fourth game in as many starts over Clarke on Tuesday with a 52-40 victory. Maggie Wilkins is on a streak of three games in a row that she has scored 30 or more points and is averaging 28 points per game, which is fourth in class 3A and 12th in the state regardless of class. Tonight’s games will also be streamed only at kniakrls.com KNIA3 starting at 6:15 with the girls tip off at 6:30.
