Indianola received approximately 5” of snow during the first major winter weather event of the season this past weekend, causing the city to be under a snow ordinance for much of Friday and Saturday. During the ordinance, the Indianola Police Department impounded seven vehicles, issued 62 tickets, and responded to one weather-related accident. Indianola Police Captain Brian Sher tells KNIA News everyone should prepare properly for winter driving if they haven’t already.

“Have your gear prepared ahead of time. Extra food and water, extra clothing, a flashlight, any medications you may use. Just definitely have a winter pack in your car.”
