Warren County has seen a growth of 66 cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, up to 3,286 since the latest update on December 11th. According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, active cases continue to fall over the last several weeks down to 1,032, a drop of 69 cases since the latest update.
The Iowa Department of Public Health shows two outbreaks in long-term care facilities in Warren County, and Warren County has 24 deaths from the virus, 10 of which have come in the month of December.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has set a 15% positive test rate as a metric that is a factor in indicating schools should move to remote learning. As of Monday, Warren County is over the threshold at 15.5%, while Marion County is at 15.7%. There are 56 counties in Iowa currently over the threshold.
