The Indianola wrestling squad continues their home meet streak tonight, hosting a triangular with Ankeny Centennial and Bondurant-Farrar at the Blake Fieldhouse. The Indians have yet to lose a contest this season, getting good performances from their returning lower and upper weights. Head coach Clint Manny tells KNIA Sports he has some newer wrestlers near the middle weights, and they are seeing some of their first varsity action.
“We’ve got a ton of depth at the middle weights, but it’s all young depth. We’ve got 6-7 freshman at 138-145lbs and another 6-7 freshman at both ends of that weight. Some great depth there, and some upperclassman as well but when you are behind multiple time state qualifiers getting your chance to get in the lineup is few and far between with the weights we’ve had there the past few years.”
Action starts tonight at 5:30pm.
