Indianola Basketball Squads Host First Conference Doubleheader

The Indianola boys and girls basketball squads host Little Hawkeye Conference foe Dallas Center-Grimes tonight in a doubleheader, only their second home contest of the season so far and first conference home game. The Indians boys have faced some of the top competition in the state so far, and that trend will continue as the Mustangs are ranked #1 in class 3A and boast an undefeated record so far this season. The #15 in class 5A Indians girls are on a four-game winning streak and undefeated in conference play, and will also face a tough test in the #6 in class 4A Fillies. Head coach Jeff Janssen tells KNIA Sports the Indians have faced good teams this year, and have done a lot more introspection than in years past.

“I think the time we are spending watching ourselves this year, much more than we have in the past. I think the girls are so smart, they get the game, and I think it will be a big bonus for us to see what we are doing well, what are we not doing well, and how do we try and thrive”

Hear the doubleheader live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 6pm, with tip-off scheduled for 6:15.
