Just one doubleheader remains on the schedule in 2020 for the Norwalk basketball teams, as the Warriors play host to Oskaloosa this evening in Little Hawkeye Conference action. The Norwalk girls have had trouble finishing games as of late, but will look to put together one final solid performance before the long break. They’ll be facing an Indians team that, at 3-3, has already reached the win total of the previous three seasons combined, and is putting up impressive numbers early on this year. Head Coach Jill Martin recognizes that Oskaloosa is an improved team, and says her team can’t take a night off in conference play.

Norwalk enters 1-5 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

Fresh off a thorough victory on Tuesday over Lewis Central, the Norwalk boys will try to remain undefeated on their home court when the new-look Indians make the visit. Like Norwalk, Oskaloosa is a team searching for a new identity after relying on the talent of 7-footer Xavier Foster over the last four years, who now plays for Iowa State. The Indians were a game shy of state last year, but are off to a rocky 1-3 start, winning only their season opener so far. Oskaloosa has lost its previous three games by 20, 22, and 30 points. For Norwalk, it’s a chance to get back above .500 in conference play after a 1-1 start.

Tonight’s games will air on the KNIA3 stream with Jon Mohwinkle calling the action. Pregame coverage begins at 6:00, with the opening tipoff from Norwalk High School at 6:15.
