It’s been a week since the Pella Christian basketball teams have been in action, and they’ll leave Eagle Lane for conference action.

The Eagles take on Grinnell as winter break draws near, and in the girls game, they do so against the No. 9 in Class 4A, and a Tigers program currently playing after three straight trips at the state tournament.

Pella Christian Head Coach Brad Engbers knows his girls will have to be ready for the speed and quickness on every possession.

In the nightcap, Pella Christian seeks their first boys conference win of the season against a Grinnell team also winless in league competition. The Tigers may be one of the few teams to match some of the Eagles’ size, as 6-8 senior post Owen Coffman averages 15 points and 7 rebounds per game. Pella Christian brings their trio of balanced scorers to the floor — Levi Schelhaas is averaging 11.8 points per game, Jaedon Huisman is at 11.3, and Eric Mulder is averaging 10.8 per contest along with 8.5 rebounds.

Coverage from Grinnell High School begins at 6 p.m. this evening on 92.1 KRLS.
