Devin Arkema erupted for 30 points to lead the Twin Cedars Boys Basketball Squad to a 55-43 win over Southeast Warren last night, while the girls fell to the Warhawks 49-30. After a slow start that saw the Saber boys score just two points in the first eight minutes of the game, Twin Cedars grabbed the lead before halftime outscoring Southeast Warren 22-9 in the second quarter as Arkema scored 14 of his 30 points in the second frame. Coach Blake McWilliams told KRLS Sports, Arkema had his complete game on display last night.
Twin Cedars placed three players in double figures to compliment Arkema as Kade Dunkin scored 11 points and Jace Nichols tallied ten. The girls could not muster enough offense to stay with Southeast Warren on Friday as the Sabers fell behind by double figures in the first half and could not get closer than 11 points after the break. Brooke Roby led all scorers with 19 points. The Saber boys finish the pre-Christmas portion of the season at 3-4 while the girls are 4-6. Both teams are off until January 5th when they travel to Lamoni.
