The City of Indianola and Indianola Fire Department wants to remind residents to keep fire hydrants in mind when clearing snow from property and sidewalks. Snow around a fire hydrant should be completely cleared to the road and sidewalk, and if there is no sidewalk to clear five feet around the hydrant. The Indianola Fire Department also wants to remind residents that every second counts in an emergency, so clearing the hydrants of snow and ice is important.
