The Twin Cedars Girls Basketball Squad finished the 1st part of the season with a 4-6 record. The Sabers have seen improvement from all of the girls, especially Rylee Dunkin and Cheyenne Bruns. Both have raised their scoring average by five points from last season. Coach Trent Verwers tells KRLS Sports the girls are getting the fact that they can no longer be the Brooke Roby show and everyone needs to contribute to have a chance to win.
Verwers:
“Rylee Dunkin and Cheyenne have picked up the scoring when Brooke has an off night. We just knew that was going to happen if we were going to win, and five points here and four points there is going to go a long way to giving us a chance in every game.”
Roby is currently the leading scorer at 10.2 points per game, but the team is more balanced this season with Dunkin averaging nearly nine points per game and Bruns scoring 6.3 points per game. The Sabers will be on the court January 5th at Lamoni.
