Indianola is in good standing to defend its Little Hawkeye Conference girls basketball championship as winter break has settled in.

The No. 14 in Class 5A Indians are 3-0 against conference foes, with wins over Pella, No. 6 in Class 4A Dallas Center-Grimes, and Pella Christian.

There is a three-way tie for 2nd place, as the Fillies, No. 10 in 4A Grinnell, and the Lady Dutch are all 2-1.

An improved Oskaloosa team and Norwalk are 1-2 in league competition so far, and Newton and Pella Christian remain the only winless teams one-fourth of the way through the Little Hawkeye Conference.
