The first COVID-19 vaccine doses from Moderna were administered Wednesday at Pella Regional following CDC and State of Iowa guidelines. Marion County Public Health is directing local vaccine distribution and it will be done in a phased approach, according to the hospital. Health care workers are among the first to receive the vaccine. The vaccine will not be available to the general public until spring or summer 2021. Earlier this week, Knoxville Hospital and Clinics staff received their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine as well.
