Earlier in the season, the Knoxville Wrestling Squad had to hit the pause button for several days due to COVID-19. Coach Doug Hatch was concerned how that would affect his young team, but he believes that even after the pause was over, his wrestlers were at home doing workouts and viewing video of their matches to stay on top of their efforts moving forward.
Hatch:
“I think this group for sure they’re doing pushups and situps at home and watching video and talking things through and working on what they need to improve.”
The Panthers resumed their season on December 19th at Roland-Story by placing four wrestlers on the podium led by Andon Trout winning the 138 pound weight class. The Panthers next meet will be a quad involving three fellow South Central Conference teams, Albia, Chariton, and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on January 7th.
