Indianola Mayor Pam Pepper has been in office for several months, after being appointed by the Indianola City Council in October after the resignation of Mayor Kelly Shaw. Mayor Pepper tells KNIA News meeting with Indianola City Council members, city staff, and residents sharing their concerns, it is clear that Indianola is on the right path working forward.
“It’s been very good quite honestly. I did a crash course and met with all of the department heads early on in November, spending quality time with them. And what’s helping is I served on city council for a number of years, so it was really more of a refresher course than having to figure it all out. So it’s nice to hear the updates, talking with staff, I’ve been in the office quite a bit, so it’s just nice to be there and be around. I’m so impressed with our city staff, they do such a great job. Good people, working hard, trying to make our city better, which is what any mayor would want.”
A special election for the position of Indianola Mayor was requested by Indianola residents after gathering enough signatures, and is scheduled for March 3rd.
