The Twin Cedars Girls Basketball Squad is ready to get back on the court for the 2nd half of the season next week. The Sabers stand at 4-6 and 2-2 in the Bluegrass Conference. While the regular season conference title is likely out of reach, Coach Trent Verwers tells KRLS Sports the conference tournament later in January is still something to shoot for.

“We’ve never really talked about it that much, but the girls athletically can compete in any sport they play. They’re finally realizing that they’re not just a softball school and they just have to put the time and effort into it.

The softball squad, with many of the same girls that play basketball, has rolled to back-to-back Bluegrass Conference titles. Verwers adds they need to start January off on the right note to get as high of a seed as they can in the conference tournament.
