The Knoxville Public Library, like all libraries in Iowa, faced the challenge of having to close for a period of time during the COVID-19 pandemic. Director Roslin Thompson says that during the 15-week period that the library was closed to the public, online programming kept patrons engaged.
“Even with the online programming, the book club, story time, craft time, all of that, we still had 52 programs that were online, and we had a lot of people that took part in that. So I would consider that a success.”
Thompson says that overall library traffic has been slower since reopening, but that online resources continue to be utilized. Hear a Knoxville Library 2020 Year in Review on today’s Let’s Talk Knoxville.
