Pleasantville’s wrestling team returned to the mats this past week looking to improve for their next tournament at PCM High School.

Trojans Coach Heath DeForest would love to see improvement from their team after a subpar performance in the WCAC Tournament December 16th, citing they need to be more aggressive on the mats.

“To put it bluntly I don’t think we showed our capabilities,” DeForest explained. “I think I let the kids know and they understand that. No matter who we are going against, I have certain expectations and expect the kids to have the same expectations of themselves. I think we got to prove them, it doesn’t matter what they are wearing. All that matters is who on the other side of that line. We have to go out and battle. The biggest things we have been working on are getting out there fighting, attacking,  and battling. Those are some of our takeaways of what we need to do better from Conference.”

DeForest also states that his team looked good during their first week of practice back from Christmas break.

Pleasantville’s next tournament will be January 9th at PCM High School, as they will compete in the Mustangs’ Invitational Tournament. Action starts at 10:00 AM.
