The 4-6 Sabers girls are in a good position after having some scheduling issues thus far, but things took a back seat this week as they had to have some players miss time due to COVID-19 related protocols.

When practice started back up last week, there were only three girls able to participate. That makes running drills virtually impossible as there aren’t enough for a full team, let alone others to practice against.

Head Coach Trent Verwers says that is was certainly a challenge, but it is back to business as usual now that the quarantine period has past

“We’ve done all we can. There’s plenty that we can and can’t do with only three girls, especially from the team side of it. We’ve done all we could up to this point and [now] we have to get back at it because [we have] everyone back.”

Saturday was the date set for all potentially at risk to return to practice. They will get back to game action on Tuesday at Lamoni, followed by going to Tri-County on Thursday.
