melcher-dallas-5

In a Bluegrass Conference doubleheader, Melcher-Dallas split with Murray for their first matchups of 2021. The girls came out on top, upsetting the Mustangs 39-35. The boys remain winless on the season as they lose their third consecutive game, 67-42.

The girls put forth one of their best defensive performances of the season, handing Murray their first conference loss of 2020-21. The Saints were led by Kynser Reed who had 12 points and eight rebounds. Hailey Hoch was second on the team on scoring and rebounding, with eight and seven, respectively.

The 35 points were the second-fewest amount of points allowed by the girls this season. They gave up 27 in their matchup at Ankeny Christian.

The boys dropped their third consecutive game to start the season in a 67-42 defeat. The Saints had three players in double figures last night, led by Lane VanderLinden with 12 points. A combination of cold shooting and sluggish defense led to the game quickly unraveling.

Both teams will be back in action tonight in their first home conference doubleheader against Seymour. The games tip off at 6:00 PM.
