After facing a pair of ranked teams Saturday coming out of the holiday break, it’s another gauntlet tonight for the Pella Christian basketball teams.  The Eagles head to Dallas Center-Grimes tonight to take on the Class 4A #6 Fillies girls and undefeated Class 3A #1 Mustang boys.

These types of games aren’t unusual for the Eagles, who are the smallest of the eight teams in the Little Hawkeye Conference and traditionally play most of their games against bigger schools in all sports.  First years boys coach JD Boer is excited for the competition.

“We’re going to be in these games a lot.  We’re going to be in tough games, and we play a good schedule, which I think bodes well for us.  DCG is going to be a great test.  Their backcourt is outstanding, and they round out their roster really well.  They’ve got a lot of good basketball players in their program.  We’re going to have to be ready to go tonight.”
