The City of Indianola is asking parents and children to be as safe as possible when playing in the snow, especially around snow tunnels built along the corners of streets, and that snow play should be done away from the side of the road, parking lots, and alleys, and tunnels and caves dug near piles of plowed snow can collapse and suffocate any inside. Residents are also asked to clear snow away from fire hydrants in a snow event, as seconds matter in an emergency.
