On the eve of the PCM Mustangs girls basketball team’s return to action, they certainly have their eyes set on improving their 1-10 record in the first half of the season.

The Mustangs have had to deal with some players not being available to start the year, losses that were narrow as well as large, and having close games slip away at the last possible moment.

Even though some teams may just stop caring and stop putting in the effort, Head Coach Jeff Lindsay says that this PCM team is full of young ladies who work hard and want to fight to the finish.

“Our spirits are high. That’s what I really enjoy about this group of girls. Sometimes after half a season like we’ve had, you can have some players that give up or throw in the towel. These girls, they’re not giving up. They’re not throwing in the towel either. No one is. They come to practice the same all the time with good spirits, willing to listen and learn. Everyone might think this is all doom and gloom, but it’s not.”

The Mustangs will return to action tomorrow for a double header against South Hamilton in Monroe. Live coverage can be heard on the KRLS3 stream at kniakrls.com starting at 5:45.
