With cold weather during the winter months, residents are reminded to keep an extra close eye on their tires to make sure they are in proper condition. Raceway Tire and Exhaust owner Travis Thompson says that a simple inspection will point out any irregularities.
“You want to make sure that you’re visibly inspecting your tires. If you’re waiting for gas to pump in your vehicle, take a quick look around at your tires. Take a look at the sidewall to see if there’s irregular cracking, see if there’s irregular wear on the shoulders. Irregular wear will give you a good indication you have something going on with the alignment of your vehicle. Those are things that you can look at.”
Cold weather commonly causes tire deflation, as cold air contracts and puts less pressure on the walls of the tire. For more tips on tire conditions, click here.
