Melcher-Dallas’ boys got their first win of the season Tuesday after knocking off Seymour in convincing fashion, and they hope to continue their winning ways next week with another two Bluegrass Conference matchups.
Melcher-Dallas’ first matchup of next week will be a rematch with Murray Tuesday. The Saints’ first matchup was a 67-42 loss to the Mustangs at Murray Monday. Coach Jim Wells tells KNIA Sports that his team needs to play better and more consistently to beat Murray Tuesday.
“Murray did a nice job of taking care of the ball and running their offense. We got down, and then we had to hurry. I think it was 36-18 at halftime, the final score of the game was 67-42, so we were outscored 31-24 in the second half. I thought we played with them pretty well in the second half, we just got to come out of the gate and play like that.”
Wells’ team also will travel to Moulton-Udell for their second Bluegrass Conference matchup of the week Next Friday. The Eagles may be looking for their first win of the season.
Melcher-Dallas will play Murray as part of a girls-boys home doubleheader Tuesday. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:45 PM.
