coaches-vs-cancer-4

Knoxville Coaches vs. Cancer is two weeks from today, Saturday, January 23rd. The day will not consist of usual activities such as the alumni game, and the auction will be held virtually. Organizer Jim Uitermarkt says that the pandemic has not stopped cancer, so the event will move forward as allowable by current guidelines.

“COVID has stopped a lot of stuff. Unfortunately, it did not stop cancer. Cancer is still out there, it’s affecting a lot of people, and in a way, it’s one of those things that’s kind of been forgotten a little bit because all we talk about it COVID. We want to do everything we can. Cancer hasn’t stopped, and we’re not going to either. We don’t set a goal, we just want to do what we can, and this year is probably going to be different, but we’re going to do the best that we can.”

People can make tax deductible donations to the effort here. The day wraps up with the Knoxville basketball teams hosting Chariton, with live coverage on 95.3 KNIA.
