The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Iowa will progress forward in stages as a state, rather than on a county-by-county basis. Warren County Health Services Director Jodene DeVault tells KNIA News all phase 1A healthcare workers will be vaccinated before they move on to the next phase.

“Iowa will progress to the next phase together. The rationale for that you can probably figure out. Let’s say a smaller county like Adair County is done with their 1A population, they aren’t having any appointments, people are not coming to them, they are done. So let’s say Adair County moves to 1B, who will be coming to them to get shots? And they don’t have the capacity for that.”

DeVault will be featured on an upcoming In-Depth with Dr. Bob Leonard discussing the vaccine rollout.
